A postpartum doula there for you and your newborn with emotional, informational, and practical support.
FAQ
What is a postpartum doula?
The postpartum doulas role is to provide education, non-judgmental support and companionship; assisting with newborn care, family adjustment, meal preparation, and light household tasks. Postpartum doulas also offer non-bias, evidence-based information on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth, infant soothing and coping skills for new parents, making appropriate referrals when necessary.
Who is a postpartum doula for?
Anyone with a newborn baby from 0-12 weeks old. I support ALL families with love!
Do you attend the labor and delivery?
No! Although if the family prefers I may be able to attend the place of birth right after baby is born. If you want support during labor and delivery I would consider hiring a birth doula!
Do you offer sliding scale pricing?
Yes! I believe that this work is SO important and would hate for a family to struggle because they couldn’t afford it. I also believe that one of the BEST gifts you can give a family with a newborn is a postpartum doula. A lot of families will ask for money for the service as a baby shower gift!
Do I need you if I have family coming to help?
This is completely up to you! Family can be great during this time, but it may also be stressful. Having non-bias, non-judgmental support may be comforting while family is in town and that’s what I’m here to offer!
How much does a postpartum doula cost?
My rate is $20 an hour!
